Jump Jets Make Me Want To Punch A Baby Seal Right In The Face!

I'm not a JJ user. They don't work on the mechs I like. Wouldn't take them now even if they did. Heat generation is fine. Multiple units for full flight time makes sense but not with the current lack of vertical thrust. They certainly make mechs more agile. Spiders, Jenners and the RVN-4X can dash past a target, jump and spin and continue to deal damage or jump and trust to change direction a bit faster but not even the spider gains more mobility.
The slow climb speeds don't help you get over rough terrain or buildings to attack or escape, it just leaves you exposed. I could see a benefit in the future when the grade of a hill slows you down but right now the benefits aren't worth the weight.
I've never seen a jump capable mech (even when all you needed was a single JJ) and thought "I'd better not engage them where the terrain can give them an advantage." I just want them to jump so their legs stop moving and I can alpha one into oblivion.

because while some dev responses say they're looking into it, there's also this:

They should instead slide as if they were being pushed by a bigger mech in a direction matching their landing vector for a second or two.
this crap of jump-stop at landing and insta-speed up in a completely different direction is what makes it unrealistic and exploitable.
